Scar Tissue Massage

60 min - $135, 90min - $185

(To treat a few scars in one session please book a 90min session)

The scars are a little bit like icebergs.

What you see on a surface is nothing like what you see underneath.

Gentle Scar Tissue Therapy is a gentle and effective technique used to decrease discomfort, fascial adhesions, dark coloring or congestion of scar tissue.

Did you know the scars can contribute and even be the cause of common pain conditions,

like lower back pain or headaches?

Gentle Scar Tissue Therapy is a gentle yet effective modality. In your session you may feel such sensations as a slight tugging or pressure as the scar tissue is released. Your therapist will communicate with you throughout your session to ensure that you are comfortable. You may continue to feel the effect of the work throughout the following three weeks as your body continues to heal and release scar tissue.

What many clients don’t realize is the physiological impact that scars can have on their bodies — whether its a minor scar from falling as a child, a high-school football injury, or a C-section scar. While not every scar presents a problem, many do. If your body doesn’t break down scar tissue completely, it will often spread — triggering your body to compensate. Any kink, pull or restriction in one area can impact the rest of the body. If your movements are restricted, your muscles will be forced to compensate by working harder. Nerve entrapment can affect circulation and cause pain and discomfort.

Your body is held together by one huge single sheet of connective tissue, or fascia. This fascia which is under the skin and above the muscle, wraps around your entire body like an intricate spiderweb and influences the way you function — from your organ systems to functional operations of your muscles and bones. No matter how new or old your scar, Gentle Scar Tissue Therapy can help. It can make a difference to any age of scar, whether it belongs to a baby or an elderly person.

You can receive gentle scar tissue therapy between 6 - 8 weeks old scar to over 50 years old scar post surgery.

No scar is too old to still allow for change and release adhesions.

By working on a scar fascia tissue we're increasing the fluid in that area. The aim of the massage towards

~ the reintegration of the scarred  area within the body

~ normalizing/restoring sensations

~ reducing redness and visibility

~ reducing pain and adhesions safely

~ having less tension and easier movement

~ reducing trauma

~ reducing nervous system firing

~ helping the flow of lymphatics and vascular system

~ increasing blood flow

~ helping the good stuff going in and the bad stuff going out.

Using Gentle Scar Therapy techniques will increase levels of hyaluronic acid which is a super hydrating substance within the fascia. The collagen fibers become evenly spaced assisting with reorganized circulation, hydration and function of the scar tissue.

Photos of the scar areas will be taking prior and post each treatment.
